Low/ High table

The client asked for a dark wood, coffee table with a raising top so they could also use it to work or eat off.  They were keen on the maximum amount of storage inside for bulky board games and sufficient surface area to play them. 

Their prefered style was simple, with plain lines and minimum decoration.  After consultation, walnut was selected as the base wood with plain bamboo as the accent colour.  The legs are solid, built up from 1.5mm laminations while the top and sides are veneered over birch plywood to ensure stability and flatness under all the temperature and humidity variations of a modern home.

The finished piece has the unexpected advantage of being a perfect height for the young baby of the house to pull heself up by!
